While Lily (Claire McClain) and Samantha (Kathryn Milewski), a long-term couple, are out doing routine errands, Samantha confesses her desire to move back home, inspiring an emotionally fraught conversation between the two.
Chores is a snapshot of a moment of change for a relationship, with an open ending and in some ways an open beginning – we don’t see what has inspired Samantha’s change of heart about living in New York City. In the end, something is irreparably changed, for better or worse. Chores is a nuanced snapshot of a relationship between two women who love each other but struggle to communicate effectively.
